  1. Drivers may not drive after the 16th hour of coming on duty instead of the 14th hour. Drivers are prohibited from driving after being on duty 70 hours in seven days, or 80 hours in eight days if the motor carrier operates truck seven days a week. A driver may 'restart' the 70 hour or 80 hour period if he/she takes 34 consecutive hours off duty.
